Cheryl Murphy Leads and manages the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners wellness program and has made tremendous strides from the onset to where the program is at now. The mission and vision are: Create a culture of health in Hillsborough County. Vision Employees embracing a healthy,
prosperous life. Cheryl started by developing an extensive wellness champion program where she leads
and motivates the champions to create the culture of well-being at HCBOCC. With her powerful leadership and outgoing personality she has developed a program which has tremendous engagement results: The first rebates (premium differential) were paid out to employees in January who completed their Bundle of Three (health assessment, biometric screening and annual physical)in 2017. 58 runners and walkers participated in the Gasparilla 5K with the Hillsborough County 5K Club Introduced Time4Me, an organically developed program that provides education on all four dimensions that the Well4LIfe Team embraces. Introduced The Rest of your Life, a program developed to educate about the importance of sleep Partnered with Cypress Creek Produce Co-op to bring a farmer’s market to the Downtown area each month Partnered with Benefits to communicate benefit plan design changes to employees Introduced Omada (pre-diabetes program) to all employees and their spouses Check. Change. Control. Awarded 2nd place for the Cigna Well-Being Award for Northern Florida and received the Silver Status from the American Heart Association’s Workplace Health Achievement. Increased participants in the Step it Up Hillsborough, Lighten Up Hillsborough, and Water4Life Challenges.
